Strength:
1. Agro climatic zone wise OUAT Regional Research Station is nearby (only 10 Km from KVK)
2. Odisha State Seeds Corporation Ltd. and Odisha State Seed and Organic Products Certification Agency are nearby 37 km and 30 km respectively from KVK.
3. Hirakud Command area for Paddy cultivation nearby KVK.
4. Well planned Canal irrigation is available in KVK
5. Area of KVK campus is 20 hectare
6. Majority of cultivable land is used for seed production.
7. The farm land is suitable for both paddy and pulse crops in both Kharif and Rabi season.
8. Mango orchard is covered in 3ha land.
9. Two ponds (0.5 ha each) with well connected road are used for pisciculture.
10. Crop production demo unit is adjacent to main road connecting to KVK Administrative building.
11. Well furnished Farmer’s hostel for residential training in campus.

1. Lack of connecting concrete road to KVK campus from main road (SH-54).
2. Location of KVK geographically at a corner of the district.
3. Acidic soil with iron toxicity in KVK farm soil
4. Lack of proper field channels many times leads to over irrigation and water logging.
5. Disrupted power supply leading to hindrance in official work
6. Old structured administrative building is affected with leakage of water and prone to short circuit
7. Internet problem due to weak signal in office
8. Lack of residence quarter in campus affecting staffs time and energy
9. Limited storage facility for agricultural produce

Opportunities:
1. Scope for utilizing waste land and unutilized swampy land for water harvesting structure.
